An
all
Affirming Congregation is
one that welcomes Gays into all of the life of the local
church, and is gay-friendly, and believes one CAN
be Christian and Gay at the same time, since God
created all peoples including Gays.
We accept all people, no matter where on life's journey they are
at the moment. If you are seeking for truth and knowledge, and seeking
for a closer walk with God, come visit and grow with us.
We believe in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit
of God working in our hearts, souls, bodies,
minds, and in our lives to be more like Jesus. But that
process does NOT change our sexual
orientation any more then it changes our skin color
or gender. These are some things God will never do, nor
have any reason to change.
There are some Affirming Congregations in most
denominations today. You have to go to their local church website
to find more info.
This is opposed to
churches that are Transforming Congregations, which
means one can NOT be Christian and Gay, but they
welcome Gays that are seeking to transform into a "Straight"
lifestyle. We believe that view to be an utter impossibility, sinful,
and also un-Biblical, and against ALL modern scientific intelligence and
information.
Most churches are neither, that is, they ignore gay people
of faith, or else boot them out from their membership
and churches (which is very sad and very un-Christ-like).

at Chattanooga
CARES GLBT Hotline
The GLBT Hotline is on
hiatus
for a while.
If people are interested in getting trained
for when it is up and running again, they need to contact
Chattanooga Cares at 648-9939.
Soon
(with funds raised from the
Chattanooga CARES First Annual Gayla Ball 2003),
the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT)
Hotline will offer assistance a couple of hours a week.
Volunteers will receive full training on how to handle calls and refer
the call to services.
Please “adopt”
the local Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Hotline
by becoming a volunteer. If our community is to continue to survive we must provide support for
each other. Because surely nobody else will do it for
us. If you have ever felt alone or isolated then you know how
important these services are. Very soon when a gay man or woman is in
trouble there will be a place they can turn to for help. Over the
telephone. Free and anonymously. Today the Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual, and Transgender Hotline is turning to you for
help. Your help will make a tremendous difference. To volunteer call

The Strides of March AIDS WALK 2007

An Annual Walk to
Benefit the Fight Against AIDS
March , 2007
The
Rock MCC will be participating in the 2007 Walk this year. If you
are interested in being on the team, please see Undra Finley, Team
Captain or any of the
MCC Feet For God Walk Team members for
registration material & packet.
Registration made simple:
You can register with us as a team
member by going online:
http://www.chattanoogacares.org/ and click on "strides of
MARCH", then click on "STRIDES OF MARCH Walker
Registration"
With the Online registration, fill it
out, but make sure you give MCC Feet for God as
the Team Name, and put Undra Finley as the
Team Captain, and check "Walking as a team - 5 or more people".
That way we, The Rock
MCC church and our walk team, will be credited with your
info...
We will have several fundraising
tips available to help us remain as the top Church fundraising group
in 2007! We need all of you to helps us step out HIV/AIDS in
our local community and help continue research for a cure!
