An
all
Affirming Congregation is
one that welcomes Gays into all of the life of the local
church, and is gay-friendly, and believes one CAN
be Christian and Gay at the same time, since God
created all peoples including Gays.
We accept all people, no matter where on life's journey they are
at the moment. If you are seeking for truth and knowledge, and seeking
for a closer walk with God, come visit and grow with us.
We believe in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit
of God working in our hearts, souls, bodies,
minds, and in our lives to be more like Jesus. But that
process does NOT change our sexual
orientation any more then it changes our skin color
or gender. These are some things God will never do, nor
have any reason to change.
There are some Affirming Congregations in most
denominations today. You have to go to their local church website
to find more info.
This is opposed to
churches that are Transforming Congregations, which
means one can NOT be Christian and Gay, but they
welcome Gays that are seeking to transform into a "Straight"
lifestyle. We believe that view to be an utter impossibility, sinful,
and also un-Biblical, and against ALL modern scientific intelligence and
information.
Most churches are neither, that is, they ignore gay people
of faith, or else boot them out from their membership
and churches (which is very sad and very un-Christ-like).

In Luke 14:23, Jesus said, "go out into the highways and hedges and
compel them to come in that my house may be filled."
Since the beginning
of time, the devil, as well as society, has sold us a "packaged deal"
about ALL homosexual people, which is absolutely UNTRUE! From the
Bible they take heathen sexual rituals used thousands of years ago, to
exclude us from the GRACE of GOD!
However, we serve a
MIGHTY GOD, that not only INCLUDES us, but Who also CREATED us as well,
in "GOD'S OWN IMAGE"!
At The Rock MCC, we have exciting news! JESUS LOVES and
ACCEPTS YOU, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE! So come and celebrate who God
created you to be. At The Rock MCC, we understand and
celebrate that God made each one of us unique for the cause of God and
the purpose of God. Always remember, God looks on the HEART, (in
which there is no difference in color, sex, race, age, nationality, &
creed in a heart) of God's people. ...ALL GOD'S PEOPLE! "Red &
yellow, black & white, they are precious in His sight"...and you are
precious to us also. So, if you don't have a home church, or have
been told by a church (or others) that God "can't" love you because you
are different, come home to the "Rock". We believe you will
find the peace and comfort you have been searching for here among God’s
people.

so a replacement may be

If you have a vacation, or other event,
or a conflict with these dates, please let us know as soon as
possible so a replacement may be found. Sometimes a replacement is only
found just minutes before the worship service begins. Church phone ringer is
turned off during worship service, but the answering machine will
take your message.

People assigned to a particular task are always subject to change. Since
the whole month is done at one time by the monthly schedule, the
names above may not be current. But the
weekly schedule sent out in e-mail by Tracy on Thursday
or Friday of
current week is the newest revision. This website will be updated
accordingly.
Always subject to change, sometimes folks just forget to show up,
or are late...
Please, always check this website, or the e-News,
or Tracy's e-mail for who is serving, or if you are on schedule to
serve. Thanks. If you do not show up on time, a replacement will be
found.
If anyone is wanting any
individual training
in your worship participant part, please see any member of the
Reach Team
and we will assist with that.
Usher
One will be the person to light the altar candles 15
minutes before the worship service starts.
Usher One
or
a Board Member
will get the
head count
(number of folks attending the worship service or event). The head count should be broken up
by # of women, # of men, and # of children. The Usher Count notebook
is located on the shelf in the bookstore. This count is to be done
before the sermon, and includes all in the Children's Church, too.
When the
Holy Communion is ready to be served, the
ushers should be in place and guide the people towards the
communion server on their side of the altar. When one
side is done, let the ushers on the other side guide the folks to
whoever communion server is free. If there are 4 communion servers,
please keep guiding folks to the server who is free to offer communion.
Remember, folks go forward one way, and come back the other way, as in a
circle. That way the flow goes more smoothly.
If you are unable to go
forward to the altar to receive communion, a server will bring it to
you if you let your usher know you want it brought to you.
Prayer Partner 1
will need to do an altar call after the sermon, if
it is not done by the speaker.
It is now done during Communion. Remember, the altar is always open
during the worship service if you feel the need to pray to God. Also it
is open before and after services. Prayer Partners and other folks are
always willing to pray with and for you if you so desire, or you can
pray by yourself.
We have assigned Greeters; please
let them do their ministry. Too many folks at the front door
(and in the lobby and kitchen area) may
intimidate new people and guests. Please reverently enter the
sanctuary to find your seats before the worship service begins, and
be in prayer for God's will during the worship service.
