The Tom Sawyer Inside Us

While Samuel Clemens was not gay, he wrote about
Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn growing up on the
Mississippi River, learning the realities of life, and enjoying the American adventure. When Clemens was asked what Tom might be if he grew up, Clemens would shake his head and say, "Tom would either go to prison, or become a United States Senator!"

It is in this spirit that  National Stonewall Democrats was created to remind all of us of the Tom Sawyer deep down inside of each of us.
Is your inner Tom Sawyer alive?  Or, has your idealism been reduced by anti-gay rhetoric?

We are no longer boys [nor girls --kids] like Tom and Huck,
we are men [or women --grown-ups]. With that comes a responsibility
to ourselves, our families, our gay community,
and our nation.

Part of that responsibility is political
